tunes.

I’ve always been a fan of music(who isn’t?) but I try to keep up with whats new and going on with the industry in my spare time. So, I am going to do a new little feature on the blog where I show some music I am currently into. Right now, I am digging this new tune from MGMT called “Alien Days.”

MGMT Live on Letterman: Part 2

After the show we decided to hang around because why not? As we were standing away from the crowd a door opened and we saw Ben and Andrew entering an elevator, everyone yelled and Andrew peeked his head out and smiled, it would have made for a nice picture. Later on Andrew exited the building and was flooded by fans. Next out was Ben whom I got to take a picture with.

MGMT Live on Letterman: Part 1

May 4th I was checking my email and I received THE email. The email that said I won 2 tickets to see MGMT at Live on Letterman the following week on May 11th. I screamed, I held back tears, ran to my phone and called my +1 Chad and he couldn’t understand me I was yelling so loud. We had been hoping, wishing, praying we’d win especially since my fainting spell at Bamboozle put us far away from the stage. I was so thankful and amazed I had won especially since we LOVE Congratulations(anyone who doesn’t can leave and read this). But then again the show was for May 11th, and we all know me and my 11..it was destiny;)

Unfortunately this is all I got for a wardrobe pic, it was blazing hot and my makeup and sunscreen was melting off so I didn't feel very glam aside from my outfit. Reminder to self if I ever go to a festival ever again: DON'T wear makeup.

Sunday afternoon, my friend Chad and I embarked on the journey to New Jersey for the Bamboozle festival. It would be our first time there and the only reason we had wanted to go was for MGMT of course! He had heard they weren’t allowed to play any NY shows because of Bamboozle contract obligations. So, once again for the love of the band I ventured to NJ to see MGMT(last summer it was APW Festival). I have put up with a ton to see this band in the past: waking up at 6am(waiting on line for 3 hours in 90+ degree weather then getting inside and getting rained on), sinking into APW’s mud ruining a pair of shoes, paying too much from a reseller for the Halloween 2008 show and now throwing myself into a mess of teenagers at a usually punk rock festival.

sometimes you’ve just gotta make it for yourself. sometimes darling, you just need someone else.

Dreaming of Robbie Patts' scene in Remember Me where he is riding the LIRR or of 7 Eleven Slurpees? You decide.

On Saturday Chad and I ventured into the city to see one of my favorite new bands Girls play a show at Webster Hall. I had spent a few months being obsessed with listening to their album titled “Album” so I was very excited to get all dolled up and see it performed!

and if i see van helsing, i swear to the lord i will slay him!

A siren should have been broadcasted across my TV screen to notify me that Jason Segel was in my state and that I could drop what I was doing to go see him. I love Jason even more for doing that.
